Hey, my name is Josh and I'm a senior at Marshall. I've been at Marshall for 7 years and I've been a part of robotics every year. On my first day of school at Marshall, in 6th grade, I heard about Lego robotics (FLL) and I was so excited to join. That first meeting was so boring I never wanted to go to another meeting again but I'm so glad I did. I competed on the FLL teams for 2 years, the FTC team for 1 year, and now this is my 4th year on the TopperBots. I'm the Team Coordinator, so I lead the planning and business aspects of the team while also managing communication and ensuring that everything is flowing smoothly. Outside of robotics, I teach ski lessons in the winter and work as a summer camp counselor at Chester Bowl. Being a part of the TopperBots has been a huge part of my life and even if it's sad that this is my last season, I'm still really excited for it.
My name is Fisher and I have been a part of the Marshall School FRC team for the last four years. This is my last year on this team since I am a senior and I am currently the mechanical captain. I love doing robotics and it has to be one of my favorite things at my school. I have been in a FLL team in past for about 2 years and FTC for a year, so I have a lot of experience with FIRST programs. I love prototyping robots, strategizing and of course winning matches. As soon as I heard about the team from my friends I had to sign up right away. Outside of robotics I love to ski, play baseball, and smelting. My friends would say that I am a smart, intelligent, and wise.
Assistant Team Coordinator
Hello. My name is Frederica, I am in tenth grade. My position on the team is Assistant Coordinator, however, I also help with the electrical part. My "favorite" memory was splashing the electrical chest all over the place, and had to take care of it myself. That's something that I'm gonna remember for a while. I do robotics because I am interested in the field of science and engineering, my goal is to be an electrical engineer in the future. I go to Marshall, and of course that's how I found out about my team. This is my second year of FRC robotics, and I will keep going until I graduate from high school. Outside of Robotics, I love watching movies and TV shows, I play basketball and badminton, I also cook very frequently.
Assistant Mechanical Captain
Hi. My name's Jonathon. I've been at Marshall since 5th grade and I am a junior this year. I was in LEGO robotics for 3 years and have been in FRC since i was a freshman so this will be my 3rd year. This year, I am the assistant mechanical captain. I love being in robotics because of the people, the experiences, and the opportunities it provides. My favorite memories from robotics consist entirely of the various times that I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. Outside of robotics I enjoy building computers, mountain biking, and downhill skiing.
I'm Cory, and I am the programming and electrical captain. My favorite memory was that one time we got a ball into the boiler last year in competition. I am on the robotics team because I like to program robots, and I am looking to pursue a career in electrical engineering. I have been in robotics for eight years, and been a member of the TopperBots for four years. I also like to ski and water ski.
My name is Mason Kosmatka and I am the Machining Captain on the team. I have been in the robotics program at Marshall since 5th Grade FLL, so this is my 8th year in FIRST. My favorite memory from robotics was being part of an elimination alliance during the Stronghold season. Outside of robotics, I enjoy Mountain Biking, Skiing, and Disc Golf. Next year, I plan to study Mechanical Engineering at Montana State University!
Assistant Programming Captain
Hey there! My name is Keyur and I am a junior at Marshall School. I have attended Marshall for four years and been a part of the FRC team for nearly three years. My team currently refers to me as the chief Goes-In-Da, or at least that's what they call me for being the electrical guy. I love participating in FIRST Robotics because this competition gives us so many opportunities to learn and expand our knowledge on so many things. Being a part of this team, I have learned so much and had so many good memories I can’t possibly pick a favorite one. Outside of robotics I love to ski, play tennis, and hang out with friends.
Assistant Fabrication Captain/Safety Captain
Safety Captain, Assistant Fabrication Captain, Marketing Team's Creative Consultant, boy genius, Junior, and a titular member of the mechanical team, you can simply call me "Ben". I have been attending robotics meetings of one sort or another for about seven years and, what a joyous seven years it has been. In nearly a decade, the amount of fond memories having to do with robotics is nearly impossible to count. None of those memories would have the justice they deserve by writing them for this autobiology. Outside of robotics I enjoy shooting sports as well as sleeping.
My name is Josh. I'm a Senior and am the CAD Captain of the Topperbots. Joining 4230 was natural for me, as I had done 2 years of FLL and one year of FTC before, so it made sense to continue with FIRST and join FRC. I've been on Team 4230 since my Freshman year, making this my fourth year. I've been attending Marshall since fifth grade. My favorite memory was getting selected for playoffs during Stronghold at the Lake Superior Regional. Other than robotics, I enjoy competitive yo-yoing, playing video games with friends, and relaxing with my dog, Shadow.
Scouting/Social Media Co-Captain
Hi! My name is Steven Lane and I am a co-captain of the social media/scouting team. I am a junior at Marshall, and this is my 4th year in the school. I've been on the TopperBots for 3 years, and my favorite memory is scouting robots at the Iowa Competition. I have participated in FIRST programs for 7 years, and I love it because it's an applicable way to study engineering and marketing. In addition to robotics, I play baseball, basketball, and enjoy many other sports and clubs as well.
Assistant CAD Captain
I’m Delaney, and I'm in 10th grade. My role on the team is Assistant CAD Captain, so I create 3-D models on the computer for different parts of our robot. I found out about robotics from some of my friends who are on the team. This is my second year at Marshall and my first year in any robotics program. Outside of school I like outdoor activities, sports, and photography.
Scouting/Social Media Co-Captain
Hello! My name is Kaylee Randa and I am a sophomore. I am a co-captain on the social media/scouting sub-team and I also help with graphic designs. This is my first year in robotics and on the team. My favorite memory is designing a logo idea and everyone agreeing on it. I am in robotics because I want to branch out and participate in unique activities, like robotics, that push me out of my comfort zone. At an assembly in school, I saw the robot and I learned about the program. I found it interesting, and that led me to sign up. This will be my 3rd year at Marshall School, and I am in many other activities. Some of my hobbies include softball, volleyball, and band. Three facts about myself are that I'm super energetic, very involved in activities inside and outside of school, and I love music.
Assistant Safety Captain
Hello my name is Danny and I am in 10th grade. I am a part of the build and electrical team. I have gone to Marshall for 2 years and I have been on the robotics team for just as long. Besides robotics I love playing the violin and exploring the Minnesota outdoors.
Hello everyone! My name is Cade and I am a freshman at Marshall School. I am a mechanic so I do a lot of building for the robot. A big memory that I enjoy is being able to go to state during my two years in FLL. I do robotics to expand my knowledge of the subject, to meet new people and have fun. I also do it to help prepare me to be an engineer if that is the route I choose. I found out about the TopperBots by going to previous competitions and through my school after I found out I needed to move up from FLL. I took part in FLL for two years and this is my first year on the TopperBots. I have been at Marshall School for three years now and I really enjoy it and all the opportunities that are there for me. Outside of robotics I like to hangout with my friends, play baseball, go golfing, travel, and occasionally play some video games. I find myself to be smart, funny, and brave.
